The 50th Anniversary of James Dean's death Memorial Service was, as it is every year, on September 30th.  We could tour and photograph the downtown Friends Meeting House from which Dean was buried.  At 6:30 p.m. a large gathering left from the downtown meeting house for a candlelight procession to Dean's grave at Park Cemetery.   In the morning, the Back Creek Friends Meeting, where the memorial service is held yearly, provided us brunch in the fellowship hall.  (Be sure to thank them with a donation after the memorial if you possibly can!)  The service starts after brunch each year, with a walk to the cemetery from the close-by Back Creek Friends Meeting house.
