Keb' Mo' and His Band at Frog Island Music Festival, 1998

This was an historic moment in music history. As I understood it, this was Keb' Mo's first performance with his own band. Now I don't know if that was this particular band or any band. In one of my links to New Orleans music, they speak of Keb' Mo' in the same breath with Satchmo, so we are talking serious music here.

Otto must say, first off, for anyone new as I was to Keb' Mo, it's the way he or his brother said his name when he was a baby. His full name was Kevin Moore, or something close to that. This band came on last, on Saturday night, and Otto had to leave early, so here are the pictures. Please send in any fan notes that you think of, as this is a delightful entertainer, well worth travelling any distance to enjoy.

The brochure says this about Keb' Mo: "Keb' Mo's music has been called 'a flawless mix of passion and grit." If you've seen Keb' Mo' perform solo, you know the power of his singing and stage presentation, so don't miss out on this chance to see him backed by a full band."

Well, that's it. Please, if you can write about the music, please send your notes and corrections to me, Sandra Weinhardt, for inclusion in this page.

How about going to the Frog Island opening index page now?

Otto concentrates on the photos and implores you to send in your comments about the bands. You are all welcome to send reviews by email to Sandra Weinhardt, or U.S. postal mail to 125 South Marion, Suite 101, Bluffton IN 46714.
