Here are some pictures of the audience when The Cowslingers from Cleveland played Legends, along with local favorites, the Blue Moon Boys... (links below.) Otto Loves Legends Sports Bar
This historic night, April 30, 1998, was not only a bachelor party for Travis but a birthday celebration for Sue Ann. It was the most packed house Legends has had in recent memory.
We all knew Nic Roulette would get a leg up on the music business someday, but we didn't know he might step on Chad to do it.
Tomi and Cindy mugged for the camera. It was a tired hour of the night, we couldn't find a seat, and a good time was had by all.
Travis in the white tee surrounded by friends at his bachelor party. Otto was just kidding about getting him a tattoo....
What a night for tats. Three or four eminent artists gathered for shop talk. Jason Hart, Gypsy, Donnie who won't let me write about him yet and who knows who else.... with their work on display on quite a few of the crowd. Stay tuned for more of Otto's tattoo pages.
Here are two of the party-goers practicing up for the Kentucky Derby festivities. They left the next day for Kentucky and we expect a full report back from them. I won't mention Sandie's name here, because she is much more beautiful than this picture shows.
Travis'es buddy Damion was blessing the gathering or something; Otto is never sure of these things. This was very very late, early in the morning even. There were a whooooole lot of these gestures; the Cowslingers are a sort of marvellous satire on heavy metal.
Two of the most faithful band boosters, bartenders Gary and Sabrina from The Side Pocket pub in Georgetown. Visit them every night except Wednesdays and Sundays. You'll notice they are very good tippers; they've been there.
I made Sabrina pose with Brian. Then when her daughter starts to date, long years from now, I can show her the photo and say, "Gee, your mom knew some wild dudes in her time...."
But Sabrina says IF her daughter, now a toddler, ever goes on a date, Sabrina will be riding shotgun.
Keith Brewer's new band partner was tellin' us he had won the lottery, and everyone studied the ticket but didn't know if he was pulling our leg. I hope he won it. Here Keith (back to camera), Nic Roulette (in yellow) and Kenny Taylor take a gander at the ticket.
The bachelor party early in the evening. It got a bit rowdier later on but no one had hired a stripper to show up. Nobody got sick. Nobody brought gag gifts or any gifts. This was the first bachelor party Otto ever got to go to, and it wasn't anything like the movies.

Jeff Simon on the left and Jerry Simon, his wife, on the right (second picture) came to see Jeff's cousin Jamie Simon bang the big drum in The Blue Moon Boys. They were great fun, and reminded Otto to catch The Radio Kings as soon as we can. Otto gets plumb tuckered out, but we'll look for those Radio Kings.
This was the general reaction to the news that Wednesday's Roots Night has been moved from The House of Jazz & Blues to Pierre's.
